Swallows & Amazons Adventure Days

Swallows & Amazons

Set in the heart of the Norfolk Broads, TheCanoeMan's Woodland Activity Centre (WAC) offers a range of woodland activities from wildlife walks through to archery, bushcraft and other woodland activities.

Meeting at TheCanoeMan's Buxton Canoe Hire site (directions to the site and parking, will be provided upon booking) you will then be provided with Buoyancy Aids & paddles. We will then start our canoe journey to our activity site at Big Wood.

Paddling your canoe through the quiet backwaters to Big Wood you cannot help but see lots of wildlife. Once at Big Wood you will be taught the mystical art of bushcraft, learning to light fires without matches or lighters, backwoods cooking, plant and tree identification and uses and much more.

During lunch (please bring a packed lunch with you) you will have the opportunity to explore the wood or just sit and relax. After lunch there will be a woodland archery session to find out who amongst you and your friends is the next Robin Hood.

The day ends with a canoe journey back to the start point with further opportunities to get close to local wildlife.

    Please Note
  • Most woodland activities are ideally suited to children of age 8 and upwards. Although younger children are welcome to attend, participation in certain activities will be at the discretion of the lead instructor.
